The Training Car
The car that I use for training is a Ford Focus 1.6 EcoBoost Titanium X, fitted with all modern conveniences, similar to those used by some of the major training schools, notably the AA. Naturally, it is fitted with dual controls and all current comfort features, but it is slightly wider than many of the cars used by the bigger schools.
My own take on this is that if you learn to drive in a slightly larger car than average, then any subsequent driving in smaller cars should not present a problem, but this concept would not necessarily work out so well round the other way!
During the course of every lesson, the car is fitted not only with the school's headboard on the roof, but also with L-plates attached to the front and rear offsides, giving even greater visibility to other road users. This should ensure the maximum possible safety to occupants at all times.
